Philanthropy
Lloyd resides in Northern California with his wife and two children. The
family established the Lloyd and Carole Carney Foundation in 1999 with special
focus on Healthcare and children's needs, Read details below:
- Cranial Imaging Unit – Donated to the University of the West Indies Mona Campus, Jamaica. The device enables less invasive brain surgery for the removal of tumors, etc.
- Endoscope Equipment – Donated to Black River Hospital, Jamaica for the operating theatre. This equipment as configured, allows for other doctors to be trained on endoscope procedures. It provides for less intrusive diagnostic as well as surgical procedures. Both pieces of equipment reduce the recovery time for patients and the effectiveness of their treatment.
- EKG and XRAY Machine – Donated to Black River Hospital, Jamaica
to replace antiquated equipment.
- Nceduluntu Sanctuary – Located in Somerset, South Africa, the Foundation supports two houses for orphans ranging from newborn to age 9. This includes clothing, food, and staffing for the children, plus funding for 8 caregivers 7x24. There are approximately 16 children under the Foundation care. http://www.mamalumka.org.za/
- Boys' and Girls' Club of the Peninsula – Local Community in California – The Foundation provides monetary support. The club has approximately 1600 low income children and provides after school education, various educational programs, plus supervison and care. http://www.bgcp.org/
