Carney Global Ventures is providing funding for a new gas-based heating system to replace the legacy oil-based system. This improvement helps the church to achieve economic efficiencies which, in turn, will dramatically lower its monthly utility costs by more than 75%.
The Church of the Holy Spirit was founded in 1886, primarily serving the local areas of Mattapan, Milton and other parts of Boston. Today the church reflects the diversity of its neighborhood, and its ministry has spread beyond the limits of Boston to communities overseas.
Its facility is used for church services and church functions, as well as various elder programs, which include the Mattapan Center in collaboration with Ethos and Kit Clark Elder Services. Its facilities are also host to Youth with a Choice Tutoring programs in collaboration with Youth and Family Enrichment Services, and the B-Safe program, which is a summer enrichment program for youth, and sponsored by the Diocese.
